Established in 2023, Project Nowhere is an innovative music festival featuring a lineup of local and international artists across multiple venues in Toronto's buzzing Little Portugal neighbourhood. The team behind Project Nowhere is an artist-run collective, intent on cultivating and supporting the city's vibrant music community with a strong DIY ethos.
The festival's forward-thinking curation leans left of centre, featuring underground legends and ones-to-watch across genres spanning psych, post-punk, hardcore, avant garde/experimental, synth pop and a range of electronic music. For a true multi-sensory experience, venues and stages are transformed with electrifying live projections from intentionally selected visual artists.
Project Nowhere's 2025 edition brought the city's west end to life in six venues with an impactful lineup including The Armed, Water From Your Eyes, Desire and Johnny Jewel, Warmduscher, Dreamcrusher, No Joy and more. Past highlights include Lightning Bolt, Frankie & The Witch Fingers, Leah Singer & Lee Ranaldo, Patriarchy and Pelada. Co-presenters including Desert Daze, Italians Do It Better, Mothland and RANGE, brought forth new perspectives and audiences, further establishing Project Nowhere as an exciting forerunner in Canada's independent festival landscape.
What audiences have to say:
"This is my third year buying a 3-day pass to the fest. Most of the bands are new to me but I strongly trust the curation and have not been steered wrong yet!"
“I loved how intimate and DIY everything felt. It was truly a special experience.”
"A world class fest right in the West End."
“I think there is nothing cooler going on in Toronto as of late, and I’m hooked.”
"... it gives you a chance to find out about new bands in an organic way."
"Beautiful community, great acts, welcoming venues. All around immaculate vibes"
“...a really pivotal moment for Toronto indie music [at the moment]"
